Kiwi Outsourcing Modern Slavery Policy
Kiwi Outsourcing is a New Zealand company that connects businesses with skilled international labour, helping them build cost-efficient teams. We source primarily from Sri Lanka, India and the Philippines.
Although New Zealand law does not currently require businesses like ours to take specific action against modern slavery, we are committed to ethical operations and strict labour standards. We ensure that no form of modern slavery is present in our business activities.
At Kiwi Outsourcing, we uphold a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery within our operationsand supply chains. We expect our business partners to adhere to the same standards, and any violations will be met with immediate action.
1. Purpose
Kiwi Outsourcing is committed to operating with integrity and ensuring that modern slavery has no place in our business or client relationships. This policy outlines our commitment to preventing slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking in all aspects of our operations.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all individuals working for or on behalf of Kiwi Outsourcing, including employees, directors, contractors, consultants, clients, and third-party representatives.
3. Commitment to Ethical Practices
Kiwi Outsourcing is dedicated to:
- Conducting business with integrity, transparency, and accountability.
- Preventing modern slavery in all its forms within our organisation and client relationships.
- Engaging with clients to ensure their compliance with ethical labour practices.
4. Definitions of Modern Slavery
Modern slavery includes, but is not limited to:
- Slavery: Exercising ownership or control over a person.
- Servitude: Forcing an individual to provide services under coercion.
- Forced and Compulsory Labour: Work or service extracted under threat or penalty,
without voluntary consent. - Human Trafficking: Facilitating or arranging a person’s movement with the intent to
exploit them. - Child Labour: Employing children in a manner that is exploitative or harmful to their
education, health, or development.
5. Responsibilities
- Director: Ensure compliance with legal and ethical obligations across the organisation.
- Management: Oversees policy implementation, monitoring, and enforcement. Ensures employees understand and comply with this policy.
- All Employees and Representatives: Responsible for identifying and reporting any concerns related to modern slavery.
6. Prevention, Detection, and Reporting
- All employees must avoid any activities that could lead to or suggest a breach of this
policy. - Concerns regarding modern slavery must be reported to a manager immediately.
- If unsure whether an action or condition constitutes modern slavery, employees should seek guidance.
- We encourage openness and support individuals who raise genuine concerns in good faith. Retaliation against whistleblowers is strictly prohibited.
- Employees facing unfair treatment for reporting concerns should escalate the issue to the Director or follow our grievance procedure.
7. Client Engagement
Kiwi Outsourcing will engage with clients to ensure they uphold ethical labour practices. If a client is found to be in breach of this policy, we will take immediate action, including terminating the business relationship if necessary.
8. Consequences of Policy Breaches
- Employees who violate this policy may face disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal.
- Business relationships with clients who fail to comply with this policy will be terminated.
9. Review and Compliance
This policy will be reviewed regularly to ensure its effectiveness and alignment with evolving legal and ethical standards. All employees and clients must adhere to this policy to maintain Kiwi Outsourcing’s commitment to ethical business practices.
